British boy, 5, in critical condition after suffering cardiac arrest during near-drowning in Lanzarote hotel pool

Isabelle Sava, a 19-year-old British taekwondo athlete, died in her sleep after experiencing a cardiac arrest. Her family and friends confirmed she passed away unexpectedly. Emergency responders made a valiant effort to revive her, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

Sava had dedicated more than a decade of her life to the sport, achieving two significant accolades in taekwondo. She earned her 1st Degree Black Belt in 2019 and her 2nd Degree Black Belt in 2021. In the same year, she competed in the International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) World Championships in the Netherlands, securing a silver medal in sparring. Additionally, Sava officiated taekwondo competitions, becoming a trusted and valued member of the taekwondo community.

Beyond her athletic accomplishments, Sava was preparing for her second year of law studies at Queen Mary University of London. Her family described her as intelligent, ambitious, focused, and determined. They emphasized her clarity about her future career goals, aiming to become a commercial lawyer. They also highlighted her hard work ethic, stating she was prepared to work tirelessly to achieve her dreams.

As of the latest update, her GoFundMe page had raised over £14,512 (S$24,882) in donations. The money would go towards covering funeral and memorial expenses, as well as other unforeseen costs faced by her family following her sudden passing.
