'Beyond your comprehension': US only beginning to understand Gaza militarization, Kushner says

US envoy Jared Kushner has expressed that the United States is only beginning to comprehend the extent of militarization in Gaza, according to a report from Kyiv on Sunday. Kushner stated that the scale of the militarization in Gaza is "beyond your comprehension" and emphasized that demilitarization will prove challenging. He also revealed that the US has been in dialogue with Hamas for over four months, with Hamas signing an agreement to demilitarize the territory.

Kushner noted that disarming a place with armed individuals is impractical and that the US must approach the situation cautiously. Regarding Israel, Kushner mentioned that the US and Israel share a common goal for the end state but are facing political hurdles in Israel due to recent elections. The envoy and US envoy Steve Witkoff arrived in Ukraine to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss security, diplomacy, and economic guarantees for Ukraine.

They also discussed the potential resumption of trilateral talks involving Ukraine, Russia, and the US. Earlier, the two Americans had visited Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
