All schools, offices to remain closed on September 11 in Delhi for BRICS Summit

Delhi's Directorate of Education has announced that all schools will remain closed on September 11, 2026, ahead of the BRICS Summit. The 18th edition of the summit will take place from September 11 to 13 at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. A circular issued on September 5 states that this holiday will be observed by both government-aided and unaided recognized private schools.

Offices under the Directorate of Education will also observe the holiday. Rehearsals for the international summit have already begun in the city. In a first, Delhi Traffic Police will utilize drones to monitor traffic flow and identify congestion during the BRICS Summit. Nine locations have been designated for flower fountains, while 15 will feature floral boards, and 17 roundabouts will undergo special decoration and landscaping.

The public should anticipate route diversions and road closures as preparations progress. Students and parents are urged to review the announcement and consult the school broadcasting network for further updates.
