After whitewash drive, ABVP paints ‘Free PoK’ slogans across Jadavpur University campus

Political graffiti row at Jadavpur University saw a shift on Saturday as the ABVP painted slogans across campus. The walls now sport messages advocating for 'Free PoK' and 'Akhand Bharat'. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari had previously warned against anti-national wall writings, leading the university authorities to remove all such graffiti.

ABVP's media representative Ananta Barui stated that the new slogans are a strong message for nationalism, following a trend at the university that began with 'Free Palestine' slogans. The ABVP's presence at the university is expanding, with nationalist students joining the organization. In response, SFI leader Shubhajit Sarkar praised the ABVP's actions, stating that everyone should be able to express their beliefs and that their presence has brought the ABVP into academic debates.

However, JU Vice-Chancellor Chiranjib Bhattacharya had urged students to balance freedom of expression with national integrity, advocating for political debates on social media platforms instead of defacing university property.
