Aaji Care Unveils Pune's Future of Dignified Elder Care

Aaji Care, an organization that provides elder care services across Mumbai, Pune, and Goa, has unveiled its sixth Assisted Living Centre in Pune. The inauguration took place on August 30 at a seven-storey building with a capacity of 49 beds, making it the largest centre yet. The facility is designed to cater to the evolving needs of older adults, offering different levels of care under one roof.

Four floors are dedicated to individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, while another floor is reserved for high-dependency care. Two more floors support rehabilitation and assisted living, as well as those who are relatively active and independent but prefer a senior living environment. The centre also includes a physiotherapy unit and activity spaces to promote mobility, rehabilitation, cognitive stimulation, socialization, recreation, and meaningful engagement.

The design is based on the principles of ageing-in-place architect Rama Sane and incorporates inputs from healthcare professionals. Prasad Bhide, the founder of Aaji Care, emphasized that the organization aims to add better days to the lives of elders and help them age gracefully, focusing not only on medical support and infrastructure but also on maintaining independence, dignity, companionship, and emotional wellbeing.
