5 including 4 of family killed in house-collapse incidents in UP

A family of five, including four minor daughters, was tragically killed and another severely injured after their house collapsed in a village in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur district on Sunday, according to police. The incident occurred around 11 am in Hirni village when heavy rains caused the clay house to collapse. Police, fire brigade personnel, and locals rescued the victims and took them to the Community Health Centre for treatment.

Four victims were declared dead, identified as Mukesh Kumar, Maya, Neetu, and Pallavi. Kajal, Mukesh's surviving daughter, is currently receiving medical attention at a hospital. The exact cause of the collapse remains under investigation, with the front portion of the house severely damaged and a rear room structure partially affected.

A local farmer in Budaun district also lost his life after his house's wall collapsed during heavy rains at night, burying him and his wife under the debris. The injured wife was rescued by nearby villagers, who cleared the rubble despite Vinod's death. The family of the deceased is demanding an impartial inquiry and action against those responsible, alleging police negligence for delays in medical treatment.
