2027: Eno warns against return to violence, division in Akwa Ibom

As Akwa Ibom State prepares for the 2027 general elections, Governor Pastor Umo Eno has cautioned against any political violence in the region. He emphasized that the state must not revert to the past of division and conflict. During a New Month thanksgiving service at Qua Iboe Church, Uyo, Eno called for unity and the acceptance of everyone, stressing that working together and maintaining peace is crucial for the state's continued growth and prosperity.

The governor also expressed his belief that his attendance at the service was guided by divine intervention, and he plans to attend services in other churches across the state over the anniversary month.

At Qua Iboe Church, General Superintendent Reverend Ekpedeme Efanga highlighted the importance of continuously praising God and acknowledging His faithfulness as the state approaches its 40th anniversary. He urged Akwa Ibom residents to unite with the government in celebrating the years of divine blessings and victories. Reverend Efanga also encouraged the people to use the anniversary season to express gratitude to God by showing love, kindness, and appreciation towards others.

Church Chairman Elder Ubong David commended Governor Eno for his ongoing support and acknowledged the appointments made by the governor to members of the church, including Deaconess Valerie Obot, Elder Nsikanabasi Umoekpo, Elder Udo Ekwere, and Dr. Essien Ndueso.
