York run in five tries for dream win over Catalans

York Knights achieved a dream victory over Catalans Dragons in Perpignan, running in five tries to secure their first win in the French city. Dragons made a strong start, with Leo Darrelatour scoring a try just four minutes into the match, pushing their lead to 10-0 by the 18-minute mark. However, York's Oli Field managed to level the score with his fifth try of the season, thanks to Cody Hunter's assistance.

Noafoaluma scored a left-corner try for York, giving Hunter a kickable goal to create a 10-12 lead. Half-time saw Darrelatour complete a hat-trick, extending Dragons' advantage to 16-12, with Guillermo Aispuro-Bichet adding another goal for a 16-12 halftime scoreline.

Despite the halftime deficit, York fought back, with Liam Harris making a 70-yard run to score a try, followed by Scott Galeano's try on the right step, both assisted by Hunter. The Dragons struggled without a forward pack after a late sin-binning for Jesse Dee, but the Knights sealed their victory with Paul Vaughan's try in the 79th minute. This win marked York's first victory in the Super League at their fifth visit to Perpignan and lifted them to 10th in the standings, just one place and four points below Catalans.
