Woman injured after bear attack in park outside Whistler: B.C. conservation officers

A woman sustained injuries following a bear encounter in a park near the town of Whistler, British Columbia. On Friday evening, three hikers encountered two bears in Callaghan Lake Provincial Park, located just north of Whistler. The incident resulted in one woman being attacked and subsequently released by the bear. The woman was airlifted to a hospital for treatment, where she was found to have non-life-threatening injuries.

In response to the attack, a conservation officer team killed an adult male black bear at the scene due to safety concerns. The authorities have since closed the trail access to the area and have scheduled further investigations for Saturday.
