Mediation mission: Selenskyj: Russia is shelling Kiev airports before US visit
Russian attacks on airports in Kyiv are causing unease ahead of the arrival of US mediators. Is Moscow deliberately stirring up uncertainty, and what does this mean for Witkoff's trip?
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Russian forces have bombed the airports of Kyiv, including Schuljany and Boryspil, ahead of an expected visit by US envoys. He believes the attacks are intended to spread uncertainty before the Americans' arrival. The US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, are set to visit Kyiv on Sunday, after talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
The Ukrainian president also warned that Ukraine will target Russian air traffic with drone attacks next week.
