TUC passes vote of confidence in Uba Sani’s government

The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), Kaduna State Council, has expressed its confidence in Governor Uba Sani's administration. This was announced at the 33rd session of the State Executive Council of the TUC, which took place on Friday at the Congress Secretariat in Kaduna. The union praised the Governor for his dedication to workers' welfare, job security, and harmonious industrial relations.

The TUC specifically commended the Governor for reinstating 37 workers from the Kaduna State Local Government Service Commission who had been wrongfully dismissed. This action, taken on August 15, 2026, was seen as a demonstration of the administration's commitment to justice and workers' rights. The TUC also highlighted the government's efforts to improve job security, the timeliness of staff promotions, and the timely payment of workers' salaries.

Furthermore, the union expressed appreciation for the State Government's free CNG transport scheme, which has alleviated transportation challenges and costs for workers, improved punctuality, and increased productivity. However, the TUC urged the Governor to extend this free CNG bus service to Kafanchan and Zaria, allowing workers and residents in these cities to benefit from the scheme as well.

The union also welcomed the return of the Civil Service Welfare Loan Scheme, which offers loans ranging from N400,000 to N1.5 million to civil servants. These loans can be repaid over four years at relatively low interest rates. Workers have already benefited from local and international training programs facilitated through the Office of the Head of Service, which aim to enhance their skills and professionalism.
