Tinubu’s policies improving student welfare, says NANS

NANS President Akinteye Afeez stated that President Bola Tinubu's policies are positively impacting student welfare. During a meeting, he mentioned the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), improved electricity supply at some universities, and a decrease in prolonged industrial actions as developments that could affect students' academic experiences.

According to Akinteye, Nigerian students are closely monitoring government policies and their effects on their education and welfare, regardless of their political affiliations. He emphasized that students remain interested in developments that directly affect their academic and social well-being. The NANS leader said he would share the discussion outcomes with students nationwide to keep them informed about the country's developments impacting them.

The NANS president also expressed his support for the Tinubu administration and plans to mobilize students in favor of the President ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with a goal of 10 million votes. The meeting between NANS and APC Youth Network West Africa focused on student welfare, educational development, and youth participation.

Both groups agreed to explore partnerships aimed at improving student welfare, strengthening leadership development, and increasing youth involvement in national affairs.
