T-Mobile drops new phone plan for customers after raising prices

T-Mobile debuted a new, affordable wireless plan targeted at budget-conscious customers following a series of recent price hikes. The Super Essentials Saver plan, advertised at Walmart, offers unlimited 5G data and 50GB of premium data for $25 per line per month with autopay, a $5 reduction from its $30 per line per month rate without autopay.

This plan is cheaper than T-Mobile's Essentials Save 2.0 plan at $50 per line per month with autopay. The Super Essentials Saver plan, which explicitly mentions unlimited texting, talk, hotspot and 3G hotspot services, is available to new T-Mobile customers only and includes unlimited texting to over 215 countries and T-Mobile Tuesdays perks.

It also boasts unlimited 5G data, 50GB of premium data, a waived activation fee, no port-in requirement, and coverage in Canada and Mexico. T-Mobile's move to introduce this lower-priced option coincides with its broader strategy to provide more affordable cell phone plans amid increasing competition in the wireless industry.
