Nationwide politician Park Dong-hyuk, representing the People's Power (국민의힘) party, expressed concern over the nomination of Jeong Hyeon-jung (정현정) as the candidate for a key position in the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. Park claimed that the move is part of a broader agenda driven by "Kim Hyun-jung (Chung-Ang University’s first secretary)’s 'leftist cartel' (좌파 카르텔) building."

In response, the Democratic Party (민주당) criticized the opposition's stance, calling it an "analogous to electoral fraud" and an "inexcusable display of lack of political judgment." Park Dong-hyuk expressed his doubts about the decision to name Jeong Hyeon-jung as a candidate shortly after the president's election, stating that the issue came to light only after it had already gained attention.

Meanwhile, a researcher from the Jeonju Institute of Social Studies, a think tank affiliated with the Democratic Party, referenced a comment made the previous day by Kim Hyun-jung on JTBC YouTube, stating, "Isn't that the 'Kim Hyun-jung' we've been hearing about?" Park Dong-hyuk argued that the candidate's nomination is a clear example of the "leftist cartel's" efforts to build a power base.

The Democratic Party further accused Park Dong-hyuk of attempting to cover up a "false election" and "discrediting" the party's leadership. Party spokesperson Yoon Woo emphasized that the so-called "narrative of electoral fraud" was merely a disgruntled party member's attempt to tarnish the opposition's image. Yoon also accused Park of engaging in "conspiracy politics" and urged him to cease such behavior immediately.
