Springboks go 2-1 up in series after edging New Zealand

Johannesburg, September 5 - South Africa secured a 2-1 lead in the four-test series, dubbed "Rugby's Greatest Rivalry," after edging New Zealand 29-24 in the third test match on Saturday. Both teams managed to score four tries at Soccer City, which hosted 87,976 fans. South Africa came back from trailing in the first half to add to their narrow success in the second test held in Cape Town.

Kurt-Lee Arendse, Jesse Kriel, and Malcolm Marx scored tries for the Springboks with an additional penalty try awarded to the home side. Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu scored a penalty and two conversions for New Zealand. New Zealand's captain Ardie Savea scored two tries for his team, including a record-breaking effort, while Will Jordan and Samisoni Taukei’aho added the other two tries for the All Blacks.

Ruben Love and Damian McKenzie contributed conversions for New Zealand. The final test is scheduled to be played in Baltimore, United States, the following Saturday.
