Snowflake (SNOW)’s AI Flywheel Transitions into a Growth Engine

Snowflake Inc. (NYSE:SNOW) has reported robust Q2 2027 results, with product revenue growing 37% year-over-year to $1.49 billion. This marks the company's third consecutive quarter of revenue growth acceleration, with total revenue climbing 35% to $1.55 billion. Management has raised FY 2027 product-revenue growth guidance to 36% from 31%.

A key driver behind this growth is the company's AI capabilities, as the number of customers using AI applications on Snowflake's platform has surged to 9,100, up from 7,100 in the previous quarter. This creates a positive feedback loop, as more data is added to Snowflake, enabling the deployment of AI applications and driving further consumption of the platform.

The company's net revenue retention stands at an impressive 126%, and RPO (Revenue Per Outstanding customer) has increased by 30% year-over-year to $9 billion. Customer additions have also been strong, with 692 net new customers added, representing a 32% year-over-year increase. Of these, 828 customers generated over $1 million in TTM (Trailing Twelve Months) product revenue.

While the competitive landscape remains dynamic, with rivals such as MongoDB (NASDAQ:MDB) also experiencing revenue growth, Snowflake's total revenue growth of 35% outpaced MongoDB's 30%. The company's AI adoption continues to be a significant competitive differentiator, as indicated by the fact that 103 hedge funds were long on Snowflake stock at the end of Q2 2026, compared to 80 funds at the end of Q1 2026.

Analysts at Jefferies have lifted their price target on Snowflake to $430 from $385, reflecting confidence in the company's AI-driven revenue growth potential. If the company's recent momentum continues, driven by robust adoption of AI workloads like CoCo and CoWork, Snowflake could deliver strong earnings growth and further valuation expansion.
