Rays place LHP Garrett Cleavinger on 15-day IL with forearm tightness

The Tampa Bay Rays have placed left-handed reliever Garrett Cleavinger on the 15-day injured list due to forearm tightness prior to their game against the Texas Rangers on Saturday night. To replace him, the team called up right-hander Ty Johnson from their Triple-A affiliate, Durham. Cleavinger has a record of 4-4 with a 4.79 ERA in 51 appearances for the Rays.

In his most recent game, he pitched a 7-6 win over Texas, allowing two hits including a grand slam by Elías Díaz and one walk, but failing to record a single out. Johnson, on the other hand, has a record of 4-1 with a 3.03 ERA in 21 games, including 10 starts for Durham. With Johnson's arrival, infielder Oliver Dunn was designated for assignment to make room on Tampa Bay's 40-man roster.
