According to the Environmental Protection Agency's findings, 166 brick kilns were inspected, resulting in the demolition of a single kiln and the sealing of three for breaching environmental regulations. Fines totaling Rs300,000 were imposed on the kiln owners responsible for the violations.
In the industrial sector, 114 industrial units were scrutinized, and seven were sealed for contravening environmental rules. Fines amounting to Rs400,000 were handed out to the violators.
The authorities are also on a mission to tackle plastic pollution and curb the use of illicit plastic. The Environmental Protection Agency inspected 132 sites, confiscated 1,515 kilograms of illicit plastic, and sealed 20 locations in this endeavor. Fines totalling Rs180,000 were levied for plastic rule violations.
