Probe Hadi’s claim of foreign anti-govt offer, says Rayer

Jelutong MP RSN Rayer is calling for an investigation into alleged discussions between Pas leaders and US officials about potentially toppling the Malaysian government. Rayer believes the claim, reported by Pas president Abdul Hadi Awang at the party's muktamar, is not just a partisan grievance but a matter of national security and sovereignty.

He wants to know who attended the meeting, when and where it occurred, who approved it, and what was discussed. Rayer also questions whether any foreign government representative was involved in efforts to influence, destabilize, or assist in removing Malaysia's elected leadership. He describes the alleged breach of reporting such a meeting to Malaysian authorities as "treachery" and "treason" and urges the government to look into Abdul Hadi's claim.

Rayer stresses that Malaysia is a constitutional monarchy and a democratic sovereign state, and governments are changed through elections and constitutional processes, not secret meetings with foreign powers. He urges the government, particularly the prime minister and national security agencies, to investigate the allegation. Rayer emphasizes that no political party should engage a foreign government in discussions about overthrowing or destabilizing Malaysia's elected government, as Malaysia's sovereignty is bigger than any political party.
