‘Praja Seva’ will make government more responsive to people: Priyank Kharge

Kalaburagi district Minister Priyank Kharge praised the State government's Praja Seva initiative, stating it demonstrates the administration's dedication to bringing services closer to people and resolving their grievances in a timely manner. At a campaign launch in Kamalapur on Saturday, Kharge emphasized the principle that "jana seve is janardhana seve," asserting that governments should listen to citizens' concerns rather than stand apart from them.

Simultaneously across Karnataka, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar inaugurated the initiative in Kudligi and district in-charge Ministers led the program in their respective regions. The government established a dedicated Praja Seva Department under Shivakumar to ensure grievances are acknowledged and addressed within a specified timeframe.

Acknowledgement numbers will be issued for each application, and the responsible department must act promptly. On the first and third Saturdays of each month, ministers and officials will engage with citizens at the taluk level. At Kamalapur, approximately 40 stalls were set up to serve residents from 19 gram panchayats and the Kamalapur Town Panchayat, representing various departments such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Revenue, Women and Child Development, Social Welfare, Food and Civil Supplies, Electricity, Cooperation, and Yuvanidhi.

Issues discussed included land disputes, delayed pension payments, and road conditions. Kharge assured resolutions for grievances presented during the program, including a land encroachment case and a pending pension issue.
