Oseni vs Lere: ‘Missed opportunity, shameful – Sam Amadi, Osuntokun slams Wike’s aide

Dr. Sam Amadi, Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, and Akin Osuntokun, the Political Director at Arise News, have criticized Lere Olayinka, spokesperson to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. According to the Daily Post, Arise TV abruptly ended its interview with Olayinka after he verbally attacked Rufai Oseni during a discussion on The Morning Show.

This occurred after Oseni challenged Wike's stance on the controversy involving members of President Bola Tinubu's 2027 campaign council. Olayinka refused to engage with Oseni, insisting that they should maintain a dialogue with "reasonable human beings." However, Ayo Mairo, an anchor on the show, took issue with Olayinka's comments, stating that Oseni was a legitimate anchor on the show and that the minister's aide should have anticipated his presence during the interview.

Dr. Amadi emphasized that Olayinka appeared before the media to communicate his message and shape public opinion, not to engage in a shouting match. He further warned that media professionals should respect their interview subjects and the dignity of those they interview. Osuntokun added that Olayinka's behavior sets a poor example and undermines his principles.
