Meet Claire Wang, Texas student whose tutoring network has reached 10,000 girls

Claire Wang's passion for education began at home, after she heard her grandmother's story of giving up her dream to become a teacher. This realization sparked her to found Future Female Scholars in ninth grade, a network that provides free tutoring to underprivileged girls worldwide. With over 10,000 current students and 2,000 tutors in more than 70 countries, the organization has grown significantly since its inception, with an Instagram following of over 145,000.

Wang, a high school senior, dedicates 35 to 40 hours a month to managing the organization, which has partnerships with organizations like Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation and Krispy Kreme. She advises young people to start local and stay consistent in their efforts, emphasizing that passion can turn into significant impact when put into action.

Wang aims to study chemistry with a minor in education in college and continue expanding her organization's global reach.
