Lampard Confirms Onyeka’s Fitness for Man City

At a press conference ahead of Coventry City's Premier League match against Manchester City, manager Frank Lampard confirmed that Nigeria international Frank Onyeka is available for selection for the trip to the Etihad Stadium. Onyeka, who was not involved in Coventry's last two matches for various reasons, played the full 90 minutes as Coventry started their Premier League campaign with a 3-0 loss to reigning champions Arsenal.

The Nigeria international, who was signed by Coventry during the summer transfer window to cement their Premier League status, proved to be a valuable addition during the second half of last season, scoring once and providing one assist in 14 Championship appearances. His impressive strike against Derby County on matchday 40 was shortlisted for the club's Goal of the Season award.

The potential return of Onyeka is great news for Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle, as the midfielder is part of his plans for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau. Meanwhile, Brighton & Hove Albion forward Femi Azeez, who has been ruled out of their clash against Leeds United due to a hamstring injury, won't be available for the match.

Azeez, who signed a four-year contract with Brighton in the summer, has been substituting due to discomfort in his hamstring since the start of the Championship season. Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler confirmed Azeez's injury and stated that Chema could potentially replace him for the next game. Hürzeler praised Azeez's ability to score from either foot and his excellent decision-making skills in the final third.
