Labourer dies after falling from temple tower while installing lights in Chikkaballapur

A 22-year-old labourer named Rahmath lost his life after falling from the tower of a temple while working on installing electric lights for a special Shravana Saturday program. The incident took place at the historic Venkataramana Swamy Temple in Gudibande town of Chikkaballapur district on Saturday. Rahmath, a resident of Bettada Kelagina Pete, was assigned the task of electrical decoration by the temple trust.

After completing the lighting around the temple, he climbed the tower to install the remaining lights. Tragically, while carrying out the final stage of the work, he lost his balance and fell from the tower. Despite locals rushing him to a nearby hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Rahmath, who had been married for around four years, leaves behind his wife and two sons.

He worked as a daily-wage labourer and was the primary provider for his family. Gudibande police have registered a case and are currently investigating the incident.
