KTR warns Congress against seeking KCR’s resignation, recalls 2006 episode

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao criticized Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the Congress government, warning that the ruling party would face a political backlash akin to that experienced in 2006. At a protest in Karimnagar on October 5, 2026, Rao questioned the demand for former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao's resignation, asserting that Reddy should step down instead.

He recalled the 2006 political developments when Congress leaders had demanded Chandrashekar Rao's resignation in Karimnagar, stating that the BRS leader's resignation from the Lok Sabha and ensuing political changes had harmed the Congress. Rao cautioned the Congress party to remember that episode before again asking for KCR's resignation.

He predicted that the Chief Minister and Congress leaders would face a similar political outcome if they continued targeting the BRS chief, alleging that the government had made numerous unfulfilled promises. Rao challenged the Congress to take responsibility for its alleged failures, warning that they might need to resign "420 times" for the 420 failed promises.

Reacting to the dismissal of a Cabinet Minister, Rao said removing one Minister would not solve the Congress government's issues, predicting that their government would be dismissed soon. He also accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of shying away from Telangana, challenging him to join the party's 'Chatron ki Ghoonj' program to witness the reality.

Rao urged Gandhi to focus on Telangana's youth after promising them everything in the election campaign.
