Indian-origin fraudster arrested: FBI Director Kash Patel

FBI Director Kash Patel announced the arrest of Manjeet Singh Bedi, a fraudster accused of schemes against the US government, in India. Bedi had been wanted for allegedly defrauding the US government of $6,000, and a $150,000 reward was offered for his capture. Prosecutors allege Bedi swiped Electronic Benefit Transfer cards from participants in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Programme at a grocery store in Tacoma, Washington, and exchanged them for cash.

Bedi, a naturalized US citizen, was believed to have fled to India last year after being indicted for wire fraud and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Programme benefits fraud. The FBI is actively working to bring Bedi back to the United States, with Bedi's arrest being the fifth Most Wanted Fraudster captured since the new list was created three months ago.
