India survive top-order wobble, beat Pakistan by 7 wickets in Women’s Asia Cup

India overcame a shaky start to top their group in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 with a seven-wicket victory over Pakistan. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur helped seal the win, becoming the first player to reach 150 T20I matches for her country with a six in the ninth over. The Indian team needed only 56 runs to win, but they faced pressure from Pakistan in the top order.

Harmanpreet and Deepti Sharma steadied the ship, leading to India's score of 55 all out. Pakistan's Fatima Sana claimed three wickets in the powerplay, taking two in the second over and one in the third, leaving India at 29-3 after the fourth over. Shafali Verma, Pratika Rawal, and Smriti Mandhana fell to Fatima's bowling, with the final wicket coming off the last ball of the over.

Shree Charani and Prema Rawat were the star performers for Pakistan, both taking three wickets as they posted their lowest-ever T20I score of 55 runs for eight.
