‘India are afraid’: Former captain slams full-strength T20I squad selection for AFG series

Former India captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth has criticized the decision to field a full-strength team for India's upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan. The squad selection, announced by the BCCI's national selection committee, includes pace spearheads Jasprit Bumrah, Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Washington Sundar, despite the players not being fully fit.

Srikkanth contends that India is exhibiting "fear" by opting for a full-strength squad, particularly after suffering twin series defeats in Ireland and England. He asserts that it is against teams like Afghanistan that young talents should be given opportunities. Srikkanth further questions the inclusion of Bumrah, Rana, Reddy, and Sundar without demonstrating match fitness, highlighting that Harshit Rana's inclusion in England was not followed by success.
