I will keep speaking truth to power – Oseni Rufai vows

Arise News reporter Oseni Rufai has declared his intention to persist in speaking truth about those in positions of authority, despite facing opposition. The statement came after a heated exchange with Lere Olayinka, a media aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, during a live TV program. The confrontation arose when Rufai questioned Olayinka about including former Humanitarian Affairs Minister Betta Edu in a presidential campaign council, given her corruption allegations.

In response, Olayinka refused to engage, stating he wished to converse with individuals capable of reasonable discourse. This refusal led to the abrupt conclusion of the program. Rufai, drawing from historical examples such as the 1945 general strike and labour leader Pa Michael Imoudu's experiences, emphasized the importance of recognizing and confronting oppression, even when it means defying those who benefit from its perpetuation.

He affirmed his commitment to continue speaking truth to power, regardless of the resistance he encounters from those who profit from Nigeria's decline.
