How Pratibha Ranta, Rohit Saraf brought forgotten rebels to life in The Revolutionaries

Actors Pratibha Ranta and Rohit Saraf, who portray Pratibha Lahiri and Sachindranath Sanyal in Nikhil Advani’s upcoming series The Revolutionaries, discovered these historical figures during their character preparation. Ranta and Saraf, who are newcomers to the stories of Pratibha Lahiri and Sachindranath Sanyal, who fought against British rule in the early 20th century, immersed themselves in the lives of these largely forgotten freedom fighters.

Ranta found the fighters’ courage inspiring, while Saraf underwent a physical transformation to embody Sanyal's character, who was described as the most formidable wrestler of his akhada. The series, set to premiere on Prime Video on September 11, also delves into the societal issues of the time through the characters’ interpersonal relationships and the romantic connection between Sanyal and Lahiri.
