Glasner and Williams dispute VAR call over Forest handball

Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner took issue with the VAR call that disallowed Neco Williams' goal during the 0-0 draw against Tottenham. Williams, who scored in the 67th minute, was ruled out for handling the ball with his arm after a chaotic Tottenham defense. Glasner denied that the ball struck his arm and insisted it should have been allowed.

He claimed the VAR was guessing and should not have intervened, as the threshold for VAR intervention in the current season should be very high. The Premier League's official match center stated that VAR checked the referee's call and ruled the goal out because Williams handled the ball immediately before scoring, even if accidental.

Williams, however, denied it came off his arm and insisted it should have stood. He told Sky Sports, "I've seen the images and the replays and at not one moment did I think I handballed it. I headed it in between my arms." The biggest issue with judging handball is determining if the ball actually hit the arm, which is the crux of Forest's argument.
