‘Four-wall of Home’ Wrong

Nigeria's Political Economist column in August edition, Volume 1 No. 7, made several grammatical and semantic errors. It incorrectly stated that the share in agreements was lower than in joint ventures. The article also used improper phrasing such as "loomimg impeachment threat" and "weighs down on," which should have been "looming impeachment threat" and "weighs on."

The writer referred to the confinement of a woman to the "four-wall of her home," which is incorrect as there are no common triangular apartments. Additionally, it contained subject-verb disagreement errors like "weighs" instead of "weighs." The article used "consumers' budgets" instead of "consumers budgets." It also incorrectly stated that the former editor of Daily Sun, Steve Nwosu, was rushed to hospital for treatment, which is an unintelligent sentence.

Other errors included "condole with" instead of "condole," "worm" instead of "warm," and "grassroots knowledge" instead of "grassroots." The writer also misused hyphens, such as "oil producing areas" instead of "oil-producing areas," and misused the term "countable" for "harassment." Lastly, it had issues with the plural vs. singular form of words such as "banter" and "institution."
