Cops’ Assurance Cools Tempers! Bajrang Dal Calls Off Police Station Gherao In MP’s Ashta

Ashta, Madhya Pradesh: Bajrang Dal activists had intended to encircle the Siddiquiganj police station on Friday, claiming that certain policemen had verbally and physically assaulted them. However, they abandoned their plan after Damodar Gupta, the sub-divisional officer of police, promised to investigate the incident thoroughly and take action against the offenders.

Two Bajrang Dal members, Devendra Singh and Hemant Singh from Khachrod, lodged complaints with the superintendent of police on Friday regarding the conduct of some policemen. They alleged that the police were involved in the smuggling of cows. When the police failed to respond to their calls, the activists pursued the vehicle, urging the driver to deliver the cattle to a secure location.

Regrettably, the driver disregarded their instructions and fled the scene with the vehicle. Concurrently, the police managed to apprehend the vehicle at a different location. They later admitted that the Bajrang Dal workers were subjected to abuse and rough handling by the police. Consequently, the activists declared their intention to blockade the police station on Friday.

Following a meeting between the police officials and the Bajrang Dal leaders, the dispute was resolved.
