China landslide: More than 10 buried in Jiangxi days after typhoon triggers floods

More than 10 individuals remain missing following a landslide in Gaoping town, Jiangxi province, China. The disaster struck early Friday morning, following heavy rain brought on by Typhoon Saudel. The landslide occurred in Suichuan County, damaging 12 houses. Rescue teams are actively searching for the missing individuals, though their condition has not been disclosed.

Typhoon Saudel has also triggered floods in other regions, causing damage to homes and tea-growing communities in Fujian and Guangdong provinces. Emergency services have been deployed to rescue elderly residents and close tourist attractions and ferry routes to prevent further accidents. This incident follows devastating floods and landslides in Nepal and Tibet, which have claimed over 1,300 lives and left hundreds missing.
