Cadangan lokasi alternatif Lima tampung penyertaan lebih besar, kekal kompetitif

Malaysia's Defence Minister Khaled Nordin has emphasised the need for the country to continuously upgrade its facilities due to an increasing number of neighboring countries hosting defense exhibitions. Speaking to reporters in Kuala Lumpur, Nordin highlighted the importance of expanding facilities and improving accessibility for the upcoming Langkawi Maritime and Aeronautical Exhibition (Lima) to ensure its competitiveness amid intense regional competition. He noted that countries like Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand have also been keen participants.

Nordin stressed that Malaysia must enhance accessibility, space, and facilities as the competition for hosting defense exhibitions is fierce. He pointed out that if Malaysia fails to increase the amenities and space, many may not find the exhibition appealing. The minister cited the example of the Asia Defense Services Exhibition (DSA) in Malaysia's national exhibition and trade center in Kuala Lumpur, which has limited space and parking for large defense assets and vehicles.

He suggested that the exhibition's name, Lima, might remain unchanged even if the location were to change.
