Blue Jays’ Jameson Taillon goes back on IL with elbow inflammation

The Toronto Blue Jays have placed pitcher Jameson Taillon on the 15-day injured list due to right elbow inflammation, according to the Associated Press. This comes just a day after Taillon made his brief return from the injured list. The 34-year-old starter was initially pulled after just two innings against the Kansas City Royals and was subsequently sent for an MRI examination.

Taillon's team is requesting a second opinion on the imaging results, and manager John Schneider has not yet ruled out the possibility of Taillon playing for the remainder of the season. Taillon had made his return to action for the first time since August 10, when he was placed on the injured list due to right forearm tendinitis.

Since being acquired from the Chicago Cubs on August 2, the 34-year-old right-hander has appeared in three games and pitched a total of 10 innings, posting a 5.65 ERA. Prior to his recent health issues, Taillon had a 2-6 record this season.
