Ben McKenzie Says He’d ‘Be Up For’ a Revival of ‘The O.C.’ Under ‘the Right Circumstances’

Ben McKenzie, the actor who played Ryan Atwood on Fox's "The O.C." between 2003 and 2007, expressed openness to a potential revival of the show, but only under "the right circumstances." This possibility was discussed during a recent appearance on Sydney radio station KIIS 1065. When asked about the idea of returning as one of the dads, inspired by Peter Gallagher's character Sandy Cohen, McKenzie responded with enthusiasm, stating, "Sure.

Why not?" and "Yeah, I think so, under the right circumstances." He acknowledged the success of the original series, saying, "It was a great show. We had a great time. I learned a lot. I was so young, we were all young."

McKenzie's comments also revealed a personal aspect of the show, revealing that he had shown the pilot episode to his 10-year-old daughter Frances. However, he later regretted this decision, noting that the pilot contained explicit content such as binge drinking, cigarette smoking, cocaine use, and a threesome. Despite his current commitments to promoting his documentary film "Everyone Is Lying to You for Money," starring with his wife Morena Baccarin in the police procedural "Sheriff Country," and raising three children, McKenzie remains open to the possibility of a "The O.C." revival.
