Bazzana singles home winning run in 10th inning as Guardians top Tigers 4-3 to sweep doubleheader

Travis Bazzana drove in Brayan Rocchio in the 10th inning to secure a 4-3 victory for the Cleveland Guardians against the Detroit Tigers, resulting in a sweep of the day-night doubleheader. Bazzana had previously tied the game with a two-run homer in the eighth inning. In the opener, Rocchio hit a solo home run and a grand slam, guiding the Guardians to a 7-6 win.

Hunter Gaddis (3-3) pitched two shutout innings in the nightcap, allowing only one run over 5 2/3 innings in his MLB debut. The Guardians (72-70) now hold the final American League wild-card position. Andrew Sears pitched six innings for the Tigers before Nathaniel Lowe's double in the sixth inning tied the game at 3-3. Lee exited the game with a bruised left shin after colliding with Hedges. Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt was ejected for intervening in a dispute between Gonzalez and Hedges. Angel Martínez and Chase DeLauter were each removed from the game due to injuries. In the next game, Framber Valdez (8-10, 4.36 ERA) will face Parker Messick (11-8, 2.46).
