Bayern held to draw by stubborn Schalke

Elversberg made a strong season debut with a 4-3 win over Borussia Moenchengladbach, while Werder Bremen secured a 3-1 victory over Union Berlin with goals from Niclas Fuellkrug. Freiburg maintained their perfect start in the league with a 1-0 win over promoted Paderborn.
