Barcelona impose strict security measures ahead of ‘high-risk’ Feyenoord Champions League clash

Barcelona is implementing stringent security and ticketing measures in anticipation of their upcoming Champions League match against Feyenoord, which has been deemed a 'high-risk' fixture by the Anti-Violence Commission. The club's extensive protocol aims to ensure fan safety and maintain order within the stadium during the group-stage encounter on Wednesday.

A crucial aspect of Barcelona's approach involves controlling ticket sales and access. All tickets will be nominal, and box office sales will be temporarily halted. Sales through tour operators will also be restricted, while members will have priority access. Additionally, purchasers must commit to not transferring or reselling their tickets.

Once tickets are bought, they cannot be changed hands. Barcelona will report any irregularities or suspected fraudulent sales to their Disciplinary Committee for potential sanctions. This is in an effort to prevent Feyenoord supporters from infiltrating sections designated for Barcelona fans.

Feyenoord supporters will similarly face stringent controls on accessing the stadium. They will only be able to enter through tickets issued directly by their own club. Furthermore, the presence of dressing rooms or symbols representing Feyenoord will be prohibited in areas allocated to Barcelona supporters. Security will remove such items or expel those involved, ensuring a peaceful atmosphere for the local crowd.
