Atiku’s lobbyist reveals real reason for deleting Trump’s appointment post

A United States-based political advisory and lobbying firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, explained the reason behind deleting a post claiming Dr Karl Von Batten's appointment by US President Donald Trump. Von Batten-Montague-York revealed that they removed the post after the White House informed them that the Nigerian government had repeatedly complained about the appointment.

The firm shared that they apologized to the White House for any inconvenience caused. Additionally, they stated that President Bola Tinubu and his associates were uncomfortable with the firm's work related to allegations connected to Tinubu's past in the United States. Von Batten-Montague-York accused Tinubu's spokespersons and Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo of attacking their organization.

The firm admitted that President Tinubu's fear of their work concerning the FBI's allegations led him to deny Dr Von Batten's appointment. Initially, the Nigerian government denied the appointment, but later confirmed it after the White House's confirmation. Frustrated by the deletion of the announcement, the Nigerian government escalated their attacks on the firm, with President Tinubu's spokespersons and Minister Keyamo leading the charge.

The firm expects further attacks from other high-ranking Nigerian officials, including the Vice President.
