Atiku’s lobbyist deletes Trump appointment post after Tinubu aide’s comment

Former Vice President Atiku's lobbyist, Karl Von Batten, recently removed a social media post announcing that US President Donald Trump had appointed him to a White House presidential commission. The post, which had been published on Von Batten-Montague-York, L.C.'s verified X account, is no longer accessible. Von Batten's firm had previously announced the appointment, but Sunday Dare, a media aide to President Tinubu, dismissed the claim.

According to Dare, the appointment was to the Commission on Presidential Scholars, an education panel under the US Department of Education. Von Batten, a Washington-based lobbyist and managing partner of the firm, was hired by Atiku to enhance his reputation in the US. He has also been advocating for the release of US law enforcement records related to President Tinubu's alleged ties to drug trafficking.
