Scheduled to take a maximum of 166 hours, the train service aims to enhance inventory management, production planning, and supply-chain efficiency, thereby increasing the competitiveness of the manufacturing sector. The service will initially run between Whitefield and Tughlakabad, benefiting industrial clusters such as Hoskote, Malur, and Tumakuru.
Somanna also mentioned plans for a multi-modal logistics park in Tumakuru and the future extension of the service to Tughlakabad upon completion of a container terminal in the district.
