₹1.5 lakh loan, ₹11 lakh demand: Bengaluru woman stripped, assaulted and held captive for 4 days

In Bengaluru, a woman named Fathima, who works as a domestic helper, alleged that four individuals abducted her and her young son, assaulted her, and threatened to distribute a video of her if she failed to repay a loan. Fathima had borrowed Rs 50,000 from Nazath Begum and Rs 1 lakh from Reshma Banu, both of whom allegedly continued to demand payments despite her financial struggles.

Fathima blocked Reshma's phone numbers and claimed that the threats persisted through Reshma's mother, forcing her to stay away from home for nearly two months. On August 27, Nazath contacted her, claiming to have work for her and offered to pay her. When Fathima and her son visited Nazath's house, she was locked inside and assaulted by Suhail, Reshma, and two others who demanded Rs 11 lakh in total, including interest.

Nazath and Suhail allegedly threatened to make Fathima work as a prostitute if she could not repay the money and forced her to remove her clothes, recording a video that they threatened to upload publicly. Fathima managed to alert her family, who reported the incident to the police, leading to the arrest of Nazath, Reshma, and Suhail.
