Yogi Govt’s Relief Machinery Remains Fully Active In Assisting Flood-Affected People, 17,544 Shifted To Safer Locations

Lucknow (Reuters) - Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed relief and rescue operations to maintain full momentum in the wake of severe floods in Uttar Pradesh, according to the Uttar Pradesh Flood Relief Commissioner’s Office. The floods have affected 26 districts in the state, impacting nearly 3.53 lakh people without any human or livestock casualties, thanks to the active response of relief machinery.

So far, 17,544 affected individuals have been relocated to safer areas, with 4,847 residing in flood relief shelters. The administration is committed to providing food, relief materials, and healthcare facilities to those affected. A total of 72,897 flood relief kits, 367,551 lunch packets, and more than 5,000 quintals of fodder have been distributed to the affected families.

Additionally, over 5.52 lakh chlorine tablets and more than 1.87 lakh ORS packets have been distributed for health safety. More than 1,312 flood shelters have been established across the state, and 1,634 flood outposts, 1,697 boats, and motorboats, and 1,068 medical teams are deployed for continuous monitoring and immediate assistance to those in need.
