Yemeni armed forces warn civilians to avoid Houthi sites amid clashes west of Taiz

Yemeni forces reclaimed Khazan Hill, situated in Jabal Habashi district west of Taiz, after intense combat with Iran-backed Houthi rebels. On Monday, the Yemeni armed forces wrested back control of the strategic hill in Jabal Habashi district, west of Taiz province, following intense clashes with Iran-backed Houthi militants. Simultaneously, fierce battles were underway on the Maqbanah and Al-Kadaha fronts.

Military sources informed the Yemeni News Agency (SABA) that government troops are persistently locked in intense confrontations with Houthi militants on both fronts, as reinforcements are being deployed to bolster operations aimed at thwarting Houthi attacks and movements in western Taiz. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, stated on Sunday that ongoing Houthi attacks and escalation would not shift the balance of power or grant the militants new territorial gains.

He emphasized that the Yemeni people and their armed forces are more resolute than ever to overturn the coup, restore state institutions, safeguard the republican system, and ensure security and stability. Al-Alimi further pledged that the government stands ready to respond robustly to the militants' actions, asserting that the armed forces will remain steadfast in their constitutional duty to safeguard civilians.

He cautioned the Houthis, who have tested the military's resolve in recent times, not to underestimate the state's patience and its commitment to avoiding further bloodshed in Yemen. Al-Alimi also urged tribal communities in Houthi-controlled regions not to send their sons to the militants' futile wars, as it serves no purpose for Yemen or its people and only fuels the Iranian regime's destructive agenda in the region.
