Vance says US-Iran fighting is not a war, offers no end date

US Vice-President JD Vance stated that the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran is not a war, two days following the US launching more strikes. Days prior, Iran responded to a US attack on a wedding in southern Iran by targeting a US base in Kuwait with missiles and drones. Vance expressed uncertainty about the end of the conflict, noting that major combat operations lasted only six weeks after the US and Israel attacked Iran on February 28.

He emphasized that the US was investigating a strike on a wedding that reportedly killed five people but cast doubt on Iranian media's claims. Vance stated that he would not classify the Iran conflict as a war despite continuing clashes with Tehran. The US president's approval rating has dropped close to a record low, and the conflict has resulted in the deaths of eighteen US troops and thousands in Iran and Lebanon.

Iran claimed responsibility for the attack on the wedding, while the US investigated the incident, expressing skepticism about Iranian state media's reporting of the conflict.
