Union rejects Air Peace petition, honours police invitation

The Senior Staff Association of Nigeria's Air Transport Services has dismissed Air Peace's petition against the union as frivolous. The workers honored the police invitation following the filing of the petition, stating that the airline's allegations were not the only issues at hand. The union revealed this during a meeting with the police on Wednesday concerning the Air Peace petition.

Earlier, The PUNCH reported that Air Peace had five of its buses towed for obstructing airport operations, which led to an industrial action and disrupted travel plans at Lagos and Abuja airports. The union met with the police and addressed the issues related to the petition, expressing their perspective on the events. The association's Secretary-General, Francis Akinjole, affirmed that they had fulfilled their responsibility to honor the police's invitation and would engage with other parties involved to resolve the matter collectively. The union commended the workers for their resolve to fight for justice and solidarity.
