Union minister Chirag Paswan’s party seeks FIR against ‘influencer’ Swatantra Bhardwaj, calls for strict action

Union minister Chirag Paswan's political party, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), has demanded that an FIR be registered against self-proclaimed influencer Swatantra Bhardwaj, alleging that he falsely claimed political support from Paswan. A viral video purportedly showed Bhardwaj admitting to violently attacking the father of Nishu Aazad, an activist from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).

In the same footage, Bhardwaj reportedly boasted that Delhi Police refused to act due to his political connections. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) party lodged a complaint at Parliament Police Station against Bhardwaj, claiming he misused Paswan's name and falsely associated himself with LJP(RV) leader Chirag Paswan. The party has urged the police to formally register an FIR and to take strict action against the accused.

This comes after Paswan expressed his intention to ensure justice for Nishu Aazad's father, who was severely injured during protests at Jantar Mantar. Paswan stated that the attacker sought to use his name to create an impression that no action had been taken against him due to his support. Paswan vowed to pursue the matter with Delhi Police to ensure justice for the aggrieved family.

Bhardwaj was arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr on Friday, just hours after Delhi Police reportedly assured CJP protesters that he would be arrested within 72 hours.
