UK startup AI Score raises $5.4M to scale its enterprise AI governance platform

AI Score, a London-based startup developing an enterprise AI governance platform, has secured $5.4 million in seed funding. The investment, led by Fuel Ventures and including GALLOS Technologies, comes from a diverse group of investors, including Alan Morgan, co-founder of MMC Ventures and early investors in Funding Circle and Tide, as well as Mo El Husseiny, Managing Partner of Ventura Capital.

Founded by CEO Alex Harland and COO Benita Tibb, AI Score's platform offers real-time governance for generative and agentic AI systems. As organizations increasingly deploy AI systems that can interact with external entities, managing oversight, security, and accountability becomes a significant challenge. AI Score's platform tracks AI usage across a business and provides governance controls to help organizations manage these risks.

The company's approach, termed "intelligence-led governance," integrates oversight directly into AI deployment and operation. It provides guidance, guardrails, and safety controls for agentic AI, while offering management and board visibility into the activities of these AI agents. AI Score's platform operates at a scale and level of automation beyond what traditional governance solutions can handle.

The recent funding will enable AI Score to accelerate platform development and expand its go-to-market capabilities, with a focus on scaling tools for managing agentic AI across enterprises. CEO Harland emphasized that the investment will help the company reinvent governance for the AI age, building intelligence directly into the process and giving organizations the confidence to leverage AI's potential.
